When I went to purchase this item, the reviews scared me. I got it anyways because of the price point and the few good reviews that where on here. I am amazed! These monitors work so well! My daughters room is at the end of the house from mine and the range was perfect and clear. She sleeps with a sound machine and I was thankful that the monitor did not pick up on the sound machine. The silence at first had me worried and paranoid that it was not working. I was so wrong. It would turn on every time she moved around which is great, allowed me to get her a bottle before she started crying which allowed my husband to stay asleep. The one time she did cry it picked up on it and was loud enough I was able to wake up from it and go to her. I personally only use mine at night when she is sleeping so I do have the batteries in it (3 AAA- not included) and I have it plugged in so I'm not sure how it works on just battery or how long it will last with just a charge since it is apparently rechargeable. This product is amazing, has an amazing price point, and works perfectly for me. Just keep in mind that on the back, you have to have the little switch on both at either A or B. Not A and B. That is the radio frequency and they have to match. I hope this review helps since so many others on here are so negative!USB charge and battery backup. Night light included in the baby side monitor.I had not concluded the batteries were a must the last time my grandson was here, so I didn’t use them. Now, with batteries installed, I’m ready for his next visit.I thought that this WOULD BE, a huge help with caring for a child and allow me some reassurance, as I went about accomplishing home tasks while my great-nephew napped. Nope nope nope nope & nope. Had to return it : ( I had great faith IN IT, but was sadly disappointed in this product. Wasted money! Worst $19.99 I EVER spent unfortunately.We couldn’t get this to transmit sound no matter how many times we tried to troubleshoot. It only worked if you literally talked into the monitor like a walkie talkie .
